We have no idea what's lucky or unlucky

A car hits you and you get a terrible concussion. That's pretty unlucky. You go to the doctor and the brain scan reveals a malignant tumor that would have killed you otherwise.

You go through a terrible break up and lose your job. You figure out where you've been going wrong in life and get it together.

There's a worldwide pandemic. You figure out what you want to do with your life, waste less time in college, and talk to your friends more.

We have no idea what things in our life will be lucky or unlucky.

Obviously we can still expect certain paths and actions to be better or worse, but for any specific event in your personal life, it's extremely hard to say how it might impact you. You are just such a tiny sample size.
